WebTrader Release Notes
The enhancements
and modifications below are in release 2.1 of IB WebTrader.
You can now use the BookTrader functionality in WebTrader. This feature allows you to view deep book data for the selected contract, as well as create and transmit orders. If you turn on BookTrader Expert Mode, your order will be created and transmitted with a single click in either the Bid or Ask size field.
You can add the BookTrader function to any page by clicking the [Customize This Page] link in the top right corner. Select BookTrader and click Save to close and load the feature. To use BookTrader, enter an underlying symbol and and instrument type and click Go! Click the desired contract to load it with the available deep book data.
BookTrader has two modes: Expert and non-Expert. If you elect BookTrader Expert mode, simply clicking a price level in the price ladder will create and transmit an order. Click on the green Ask Size to create a Buy Limit order, and the yellow Bid Size to create a Sell Limit order. BookTrader Expert mode will automatically display the Open Orders and Executions features on the page if they're not already there.
In non-Expert mode, clicking the Bid or Ask size fields creates an order but does not automatically submit the order.
The Re-center button lets you manually recenter the deep book data around the midpoint of the best bid/ask. Data will recenter automatically if it scrolls off the scale. Note that the default order size will be used as the transmitted order size when you use Expert Mode, and will appear in the Order Ticket when you are in non-expert mode. Modify the default size at any time by entering a new order size.
WebTrader has been translated into several major international languages including German, French, Italian and Chinese. To change the language of your WebTrader, go to the Preferences page and choose a Preferred Language. Click Save to retain your settings and reload WebTrader in your desired language.
